Large Background Stamps

These beauties were released in September and feature a large 8×8 main background stamp image with various subsidiary stamps to accompany it. In the initial UK release on Create and Craft there were four stamp sets:

  • Oriental Peony
  • Newspaper Collage
  • Distressed Harlequin
  • Script Collage

They are made of photopolymer and are a very strong, solid stamp to work with. The details stamp out very cleanly and can be used in a variety of ways both as a whole stamped image and as texture on pieces that only need a little bit 😉

Here are some examples of the samples featured on the launch!

This is a tepee card made using the Script Collage stamp. The base is black card and I have stamped all three pieces of card with watermark ink which I have then heat embossed with translucent sparkly embossing powder. I have then die-cut a series of flowers which I have wrapped around the sides of the card. I have then added a sentiment on the opening side.

This is a panel layered card using the Newspaper Collage stamp. The main image is stamped onto the base card the edges of which I have then distressed by tearing them against a tearing ruler. I have then stamped the image again to create the other two panels and torn those edges as well. The sentiments and butterfly/button embellishments are the detail stamps from the same set which I have fussy cut and layered on. I have used Spectrum Noir water reactive harmony ink for the majority of the colouring and Spectrum Noir Aqua pens for the butterflies.

This card features the distressed harlequin stamp. The image has been stamped using Spectrum Noir quick dry ink and then the rest of the background has been inked up with water reactive inks. I have created the cards by using the stamp as the backs of the cards and hand-drawing a large ace on the front card. The smaller spades are part of the set; which includes a block stamp for each suit of cards.

These last two are both with the Oriental Peony Stamp. The background for the card has been stamped using the Rose Gold Midas ink from Crafters Companion and also has raised panel similar to the Newspaper Collage sample. The central flower arrangement is the detail flower from the stamp set stamped several times and then layered into the bouquet.

The box is simply the background stamped onto 2 pieces of card (the base and lid of the box) then coloured with water reactive Harmony inks and Pewter Midas Ink.
