Well hello to all!
Its been a bit quiet on the blog front recently, but we have been busy busy busy 🙂
This is a small selection of our most recently commissioned pieces; if anyone wants to know specific products/techniques etc please ask 🙂
However the majority of the stamps are by Sheena Douglass/Donna Ratcliff with most of the colouring being various items from the Spectrum Noir Range; I have however tagged other products which have also been used.
I hope everyone is having a happy 2018 so far; I plan to spend a couple of happy crafty hours today so will quite possibly post some of the new goodies which have mysteriously arrived at my door….
Hi all, I’ve been a bit quiet recently, so I thought I would share some of my projects with you!
There was no clear winner for the last challenge; so I am calling it a draw! this months challenge is to create using new craftystash items. As mentioned before, they do not need to be newly purchased, just not yet used as I know that both Weirdchild and I have things hiding in our stash which has yet to see the light of day. Entries must state which item was new 😉
After studiously avoiding buying any of the Disney Princess goodies ever since they started bringing it all out on Create and Craft, I finally succumbed this Belle die and ‘Enchanted’ when they were having their mass all-must-go type sale a month or so ago on the basis that the word die could be used in a variety of situations and the Belle die (Whilst undeniably Belle) could be put with a variety of different back drops, sentiments and/or flowers and still look good. The main central stamp is a new one from Crafters Companion designed by Donna Ratcliffe; which I have coloured and then applied crackle medium over the top. I have also used ‘Lemon Sorbet’ diamond sparkles glitter by Hunkydory on the yellow items and another new product, scatter gems around the left-hand side of the image – we found the scatter gems by accident and thought “ooo……”
This is a quick little card which I put together as something to do with the image I had coloured. There is nothing new on here so not part of the challenge!
Similarly this happy little bear was also a quickie however the sequins I have embellished it with are new so it just about qualifies…
And Finally, This is another of Sylvia Zett’s beautiful images which I coloured up and then mass glittered. The background flower stamp that I have used is also new, its a Phil Martin stamp which I found unexpectedly reduced in the Range a little while ago 🙂
I haven’t yet decided if I like the finished item or not…. but I can always do a different version 🙂
Thank you for Stopping by!
We all make mistakes when we are crafting, afterall this is where butterflies come from…
However I thought I post this particular one as the usual cover-with-a-flower-or-butterfly was inappropriate!
This cute little bear was lovingly coloured with my SN pens and I had already done most of the bear when I made an unfortunate choice for his nose…
I used black – I should have known better, but will try to remember next time 😉
So fix number one was to re-stamp the nose, fussy cut it and then stick on top creating a mini decoupage moment.
The second fix was on the sentiment. I stamped it out using distress ink unfortunately it came out a little bit distorted, so I have traced over the sentiment using a micron pen which has left me with a nice clear sentiment with an orange shadow.
I hope this helps anyone else prone to those small but intensely annoying errors which can lead to a frustrating crafty session!
Happy Crafting 🙂
