Hi all, I’ve been a bit quiet recently, so I thought I would share some of my projects with you!

There was no clear winner for the last challenge; so I am calling it a draw! this months challenge is to create using new craftystash items. As mentioned before, they do not need to be newly purchased, just not yet used as I know that both Weirdchild and I have things hiding in our stash which has yet to see the light of day. Entries must state which item was new 😉

After studiously avoiding buying any of the Disney Princess goodies ever since they started bringing it all out on Create and Craft, I finally succumbed this Belle die and ‘Enchanted’ when they were having their mass all-must-go type sale a month or so ago on the basis that the word die could be used in a variety of situations and the Belle die (Whilst undeniably Belle) could be put with a variety of different back drops, sentiments and/or flowers and still look good. The main central stamp is a new one from Crafters Companion designed by Donna Ratcliffe; which I have coloured and then applied crackle medium over the top. I have also used ‘Lemon Sorbet’ diamond sparkles glitter by Hunkydory on the yellow items and another new product, scatter gems around the left-hand side of the image – we found the scatter gems by accident and thought “ooo……”

This is a quick little card which I put together as something to do with the image I had coloured. There is nothing new on here so not part of the challenge!

Similarly this happy little bear was also a quickie however the sequins I have embellished it with are new so it just about qualifies…

And Finally, This is another of Sylvia Zett’s beautiful images which I coloured up and then mass glittered. The background flower stamp that I have used is also new, its a Phil Martin stamp which I found unexpectedly reduced in the Range a little while ago 🙂

I haven’t yet decided if I like the finished item or not…. but I can always do a different version 🙂

Thank you for Stopping by!

Hidden Pocket

One of my favourite types of card is an easel card. I like them because you can make the top section flow into the bottom section and its fun. Unfortunately I do then have a habit of forgetting to put in a space for the giver of the card to write their own personal message. While my favourite place for this on an easel card has become the section behind the easel (which is then hidden when the card is ‘up’) this became a slight problem on a wedding card I was commissioned to make as there were several people who would need somewhere to write their message and frankly, not much space in which to do it. so I came up with this:

It is a small pocket on the back wall of the card (so still hidden by the front of the easel) and inside are individual cards for the people to write their messages on. The pearl which is giving Mickey a really large piercing is actually run through the cards so that they can all be lifted out together as a little book.

Mickey is coloured in Spectrum Noir; colours as follows:

  • Black (Duh!)
  • TN1-3
  • DR1, 4 &7
  • CT1 & 4
  • OR1 (depth to the yellow)
  • Blender

His hands are with twinkling H20’s as I don’t like to leave naked card in a fully coloured image, however this is a watercolour paint which meant that I needed to go back over the black lines on the gloves with a micron pen.
